Then kick back and relax, taste wine from OC’s finest wineries including Giracci Vineyards & Farms, two step to country music provided by The Freightshakers and enjoy delicious food and cold beverages!

Location: Lakeview Park, Silverado
Time: 9:00 a.m. check-in/registration
10:00 a.m. – Hike begins
11:30 a.m. – Hoedown begins
12:00 p.m. – Guest speakers
1:30 p.m. – Opportunity drawing
2:00 p.m. – Hoedown ends

Two hikes to choose from!
Don’t worry if you’re not a hiker! Hike has as much or as little as you want!

1. Easy/moderate – 3 miles
2. Moderate/strenuous – 5 miles

Registration fees:

Teams (4 or more members) – $30.00 per person
Adults (18+) – $35
Seniors (65+) – $30
Teens (13-17) – $25
Youth (6-12) – $20
Children (5 & under): Free (no t-shirt)

Proceeds from this event will benefit Laura’s House, which provides emergency shelter, support, education and counseling services to victims of domestic violence throughout Orange County.

Lakeview Park is accessed via a private road off of Santiago Canyon Road, about 1/2 mile west of the entrance to Irvine Lake.

1. VISION QUEST AND COUNTING COUP EVENTS SELL OUT

The Vision Quest and Counting Coup events sold out in 20 and 8 minutes respectively. We do not plan on having a waiting list.

2. IRNL NEEDS VOLUNTEERS FOR FIRE WATCH

Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks (IRNL.) wild land, which borders other wild land, needs volunteers to assist in our wildfire protection efforts in Orange County. We’re talking about all of the trails we share and enjoy throughout the year.

The mountain biking community is an ideal group to assist us in one of our most important duties: fire watch. Fire watch both from the perspective of manned positions on red flag warning days of high winds and low humidity, but also having your “eyes” on lookout any day you are out riding the trails.

To have a group of riders from the Warrior Society be part of our fire watch program would be more than mutually beneficial, it would be an asset to the Orange County community at large.

We have Fire Watch Training Orientation this Wednesday night, October 9th, from 6:00 – 10:00 pm. I do recognize this is short notice, if you think you could mobilize any possible participants from your group please let me know and I’ll provide a link for online signup. If you have any questions at all do not hesitate to contact me via email or phone.

2. What we are preventing and why it’s important
3. Wildland Fire Behavior
4. Activation and deployment procedures
